Beast Quest - Glogloia the goat monster

 

Hello everyone!

 This is Max and me, Imanda. We are twins. We haven’t met before but we have something to tell you. 

 Our father is a guardian of Serendib and he wanted us to be guardians too. He said that there is a second option as well. If it is interested, we are asked to tell him.

 We were so excited to hear about that second option. So we were in a hurry to choose it. And that was “fighting beasts!”

We became surprised and said that it is too complicated to fight beast. But finally we obeyed him. 

We didn’t know what we will have to face. Whatever beast, we had to do our best to defeat it.

                        Prologue 

          George loved to go to the forest. One day he was going to the forest with his friends. They played with a ball. It was George’s turn to catch. But he missed. The ball went to the forest. He told his friends “I will go and get the ball”.

He went to the forest. It was darker than the other days. He thought that clouds and trees were blocking the sunlight.

 But they weren’t! He continued the trail. He felt that someone was following him. He turned back and saw a shape of a goat flying!

 It turned into a light blue colour and it had huge horns. Its teeth were yellow. It had huge gargoyle wings!  George was horrified by seeing the creature.

 It flew over George. It was very fast. It was surrounding George. It lifted him and bit him. When the beast bit him, he turned into ice!

 The beast was flying away carrying George with it! The ice was so slippery for the beast to carry.

 So it fell to the ground! The creature ignored George and flew away.

                     Chapter one

                      First quest

 Imanda and Max went to the palace to meet the king with their father. The king was so surprised when he heard that Imanda and Max were going to fight beasts!

He said, “Two children cannot fight beasts”.  Their father confirmed that Imanda and Max are brave enough to do that. The king ignored their father and he told to prove it. Imanda and Max got angry as the king ignored their father. 

They said ‘we will fight beasts and show the king!’ The king told that their father was silly to let them fight beasts. Then suddenly they saw an ice block falling to their father’s head and the kings too! Imanda and Max saw a shield and quickly placed it over their father and the king.

 He was impressed of Imanda and Max. He said from now on Imanda and Max can save Serendib from terrible troubles. Imanda said to everyone ‘there is someone in the ice block.’ They kept it near the fire. When it melted there was a boy!

 Everyone asked from the boy why was he in an ice block? He said ‘beast’ and he became unconscious.  They didn’t know where the beast was. Everyone guest the beast could be in the forest because the boy was covered with leaves.

The twins said ‘this is incredible!’ our first quest. The “beast quest”. They both said “while theirs blood in our veins we will not fail!”

                      Chapter 2  

          Meeting Gold and Flame

Imanda and Max got ready to go to the forest. Their father worried if they could fight with beasts. The twins said ‘we can handle it dad’. 

So they took off in a horse carriage to the forest. Imanda brought a sword and a shield and Max brought a bow with arrows and a sword.

When they reached the forest they got off the carriage. It was very dark to see or walk through it.

 So they turned on their torch and saw a lion.  The twins were scared. When they were going back to the carriage the horses had run away.

The twins tipped over a rock. The lion came closer and closer. Then it jumped on Imanda and licked her! 

Imanda was so surprised that the lion did not eat her. She said ‘this is a sweet lion Max! I will name him Gold’.

 Max did not trust the lion. In the same moment a hawk was flying to Max. He ran as fast as he could to get rid of the hawk.

But the hawk caught him and kept him on the ground! And it didn’t harm him. The twins whispered to each other about the animals who were so kind to them. 

 Imanda thought that the animals need her and Max’s help to stop the beast. Max agreed a bit.

 Max thought ‘since Imanda put a name for the lion, I also must put a name for my hawk. I will name it Flame.’

Imanda said, ‘now that’s enough petting. Let’s go to fight the beast in the forest.’ 

Max said to Gold and Flame “you both can come with us.  We’re going to fight the beast.” 

     

                      Chapter 3

                     In the forest

          Imanda and Max went into the forest, keeping their eyes peeled. They didn’t see any beasts. A sound came from the forest. 

‘Twik, twak’. Imanda grabbed her sword and hold it tight. Max too got ready with his sword. They hid themselves in a bush.

There were some boys lost in the forest. The twins asked, ‘what are you doing in this forest?’ They said that they were looking for a boy named George.

Imanda whispered to Max ‘the boy in the castle must be George’. The boys continued asking about him. 

The twins couldn’t tell George’s friends he turned into ice. So they said, ‘You should go out of this forest. It is dangerous’. 

Then Gold and Flame appeared from the bushes.  George’s friends got scared and ran away. ‘That was close’, said Max.

At that moment they saw something shaped as a goat. It was the beast.

    

                   Chapter 4

               Fighting the beasts

It was light blue, it was glowing, it had yellow teeth, huge gargoyle wings and a sharp tail. Imanda and Max became nervous.

But they didn’t leave. Imanda raised her shield and sword. Max shot an arrow to the beast.

 The arrow turned into ice when it touched the beast’s body. The twins were surprised by seen it.

 So they knew that if they touched the beast they would turn into ice. Also they got to know how George turned into ice. 

When it was getting dark the beast turned into an orangish colour. Imanda and Max began to think what will happen now. 

Then the beast raised its hooves and stump. It was a fire explosion! The fire was around Imanda and Max.

 They thought they can never face the beast, as they can’t go nearer. The fire was getting closer and closer to them. 

Then suddenly Flame swooped and grabbed Imanda and Max. The twins were so glad that Flame came to rescue them. 

When they thought of fighting the beast back, it had gone away! They heard something behind a small tree. 

It was a portal to another dimension! They saw the beast go through it then Gold was racing to Imanda. The twins and their pets followed the beast.

They wondered why the beast would go through a portal to another dimension and how the portal was created.

                      Chapter 5

                 In the other end

Imanda, Max, Flame and Gold didn’t know what to do. The twins were so scared and nervous if they would get trapped in another dimension, if the portal was closed.

But the twins’ pets reminded them that they have company. ‘The portal was about to close now!’ said Max. Now they really have to go in if they are going to fight the beast.

They went into the portal. It was very weird. They were stretching and wobbling. They were a little bit home sick too.  Finally they reached the other end.

There was nothing except a black castle. They saw a man with a staff. The man was with the beast! They were so amazed to see the beast not hurting the man. They said to themselves ‘this must be the bad wizard who created the beast!’

They were shocked to see the dark wizard. They heard him saying ‘listen Glogloia you should destroy the city of Serendib!’

Then at the same time Imanda and Max told ‘Serendib is doomed if Glogloia destroyed it!’

                     

                            Chapter 6

                        A familiar foe 

Then Glogloia was going to go back to Serendib. After that Imanda whispered to Max ‘This is our only chance to defeat Glogloia easily without any harm to Serendib’.

Max alerted Imanda that Glogloia was coming. Imanda quickly took her sword and Max took his sword too.  When Glogloia kept coming forward Imanda saw something on the creatures back. It was a black gem! Imanda was confused.

Max went in front of the beast and yelled at it. It was so angry. Since it was day time Max knew the beast’s ice power.

Then Glogloia was coming closer to Max. He jumped away from the beast and hid behind a rock. The beast was about to go to Serendib. When Max tried to stop it, it flew away through the portal to Serendib again. 

                     

                          Chapter 7 

        Through the portal to Serendib 

The twins thought they are going to be exhausted from fighting the beast again. But they had to try to stop it. They went through the portal again. But this time it was a different destination in Serendib.

There was a dark cave. Imanda took her torch and lit it up. There were black crystals.  “No wonder the cave is dark”. “These are black crystals”, Max said.

 “This is the rainbow crystal cave in Serendib. How did they become black?”

 “And why did the beast make a portal to the rainbow crystal cave and make them black?” Imanda said.

 “How are we going to find the beast in the cave with these sharp crystals, they can tore us apart!” said Imanda. Gold suddenly roared at the cave and the crystals turned into rainbow again!

The twins were astonished. At that same moment a light came from the cave and they saw a figure of a man. “It must be the dark wizard”, Imanda said.

Max said that he was not in an evil mode. But Imanda said that he is up to something.

                    

                            Chapter 8

                      The good wizard

They wondered about what the wizard was doing. They heard him saying ‘may the bad curses go away and make the beast friendly’. Max said to Imanda “maybe the wizard wants the beast to be good”.

Imanda was confused. She thought, ‘if the wizard created it and told to the beast to go and destroy Serendib, why does the wizard want to stop it now?’

Max said to Imanda he found a way to get them in to the cave. But it was a hard way to get in. They had to climb the rainbow crystal cave.

Somehow they managed to climb the cave and get in. They took their swords and held it in front of the wizard. The wizard got scared and held his wand in front of them. But he didn’t do anything to the twins.

That’s how Imanda and Max got to know, that he is a good wizard. They introduced themselves to the wizard and said that they are on a beast quest.

The wizard said “I am Daugo. I am Audro’s cousin. I am also trying to think of a spell to defeat Glogloia. If you like you can help me”. 

Imanda said we like to help, but we don’t know how to do magic stuff. We want to know where the beast is, to fight it.

                     

                    Chapter 9

             The magical miracle   

The wizard told them that he can help them. He said to tell these magical words.  “Abraca pocas”. When they said these magical words, a map appeared in front of them. The map had three hidden paths to get to Glogloia. The twins were amazed. 

“I have never seen these paths in Serendib”, Imanda said. The wizard said, “These paths will take you to Glogloia”. “We don’t know which path is the safest path to go”, said Max. The wizard said that there is no safe path to get to the beast. 

“If there is a danger you’ll have to face it”, said the wizard. “Even if there is a trouble we will not give up” said the twins. At that same moment they began to float!  “How is this possible”, said the wizard. “I tried a long time to learn to do this spell”, said the wizard.

“Didn’t you create this spell?” Imanda asked.  “No”, said the wizard. “It’s a miracle, said Max.

                     

                            Chapter 10

                              In the sky

 “We must go now Daugo” Imanda said. 

“You can’t go now”, Said the wizard. I have something else to give”, said Daugo. He gave a golden paper with some holes shaped as gems.  

“What is this for?” asked the twins. “This is to put the gem that you get from defeated beast”. “What gem?” asked Max. “I saw a gem in the beast’s back”, said Imanda. “So is it that gem?” asked Max from Daugo.

“Yes”, said Daugo. “Thank you Daugo for everything”, said Imanda. So the twins followed the first path with Gold and Flame too. “I will fly above the trees and I will search for the beast”, said Imanda. “Ok”, said Max. Imanda said that she can see some lions in the path.

“Maybe Gold can tell the lions to move”, said Max. Imanda said “we can fly now we don’t have to walk”. 

“Right”, said Max. “But, what about Gold? He can’t fly like us and Flame!” he asked. Imanda said Gold to convince the lions to move. So everyone passed the lions. Flame squawked and alerted them that Glogloia was there.

Chapter 11

Defeating the beast

The beast saw them and was flying closer to them. Since it was night, its body seemed orangish colour. They knew that the beast had fire power. It was easy to see the beast because it is glowing. So they always searched the glowing light.

Then Glogloia swooped at them. Then Imanda said, “Let’s split up then the beast will only follow one of us and then you can tell Flame to swoop down and the beast would follow it. And I can tell Gold to roar at it”.

“Good plan”, Max said. Then the twins went in different directions. And the beast followed them. Then Max told Flame to swoop down. 

 But the beast didn’t follow. It went behind Max and burnt his hand. Imanda didn’t think that her plan would go wrong. Since it was dark, Imanda couldn’t see him. 

 She only saw the beast’s flame because it glows. So Imanda didn’t want anybody or anything else to get hurt and damaged. 

So she held her sword and threw it to the gem. Then it fell down from Glogloia and the beast was out of sight. It was almost morning. Then Imanda saw max on the ground.  He was waking up!

Then Max asked “what happened?". Glogloia came near Max and touched him. Max was healed! Imanda got to know that Glogloia   has become a good beast. It flew away

                   

                    Chapter 12

    The young heroes of Serendib

Imanda went back home with Max, Flame and Gold. When they were going back Glogloia too followed them.

 Glogloia went to the rainbow crystal cave and came along with Daugo. Daugo was so surprised by seen that Imanda and Max removed the gem from the Glogloia. 

When they arrived to Serendib the people got scared and they thought the beast has captured the two children and going to eat them. But the twins said that the beast has become good, so no need to be worried.

  Once the king heard about this he immediately called Imanda, Max, Gold, Flame and the wizard. The king said, “I am very impressed”. Then the king curiously asked “who is this man?”.

 “This is the wizard Daugo and he is wizard Audro’s cousin”, Imanda said. “A wizard who can make magic!” the king said. “Yes”, said Imanda. 

“I declare that both of you are the heroes of Serendib!” said the king. “Really?” Imanda and Max replied. “Not only you both, your pet animals and the wizard too”, said the king. 

 “We love to hear that”, said the twins. Glogloia gave the gem to the twins. At that same moment the golden paper went around the twins and the gem was placed in the paper. Then the king announced that the new heroes of Serendib were born.

 The twins raised their swords and vowed “no matter how hard, we will face and defeat all the troubles against Serendib.” Gold, Flame and Daugo joined with them. Everyone cheered with full of happiness.
